The Newest Exhibit in the Museum

Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences is the only theatre in Estonia that has its own museum. The Museum of Puppetry Arts collection is constantly expanding, depending on the theatre’s repertory.

When a production comes full circle in the Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences, the museum commission decides which puppets, costumes, props and stage elements are worth preserving. The items that are usually preserved are puppets and costumes of the main characters as well as props that are important in terms of the story. Most items are stored in the museum, waiting for their time to go on display.

In January 2024, a section called The Newest Exhibit in the Museum was added to the Museum of Puppetry Arts permanent exhibition. This is probably the most dynamic part of the museum. The section was created to maintain a connection between the theatre and the museum, and to offer visitors a chance to take a closer look at the costumes, puppets and props that have just come off the stage. Visitors can thereby constantly learn about the latest additions to the museum collection.

The exhibition is constantly changing, depending on the Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences repertory and the museum’s new findings and donations.

The Newest Exhibit in the Museum is located on the 2nd floor in the museum workshop window.
