Behold the Estonian!
Estonian Fairy Tales invites viewers on a journey from the ice age to modern times, following the stories collected in Old Estonian Fairy Tales by Fr. R. Kreutzwald. These are stories that speak of Estonians in a colourful and humorous way, helping us to understand and decipher who we are and how we got here. Through the interplay of actors, captivating stage visuals and traditional folk music, a magical fairytale world unfolds on stage – where age-old stories meet the people of today. What is it that all Estonians in the performance hall have in common?
“A belief in miracles is planted in our hearts by nature, and therefore hearing such stories brings us joy, especially in childhood.” – Fr. R. Kreutzwald
Estonian Fairy Tales is a diploma production of the visual theatre master’s programme in the Drama School of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
