Sometimes it does. But usually, it does not. We are silent, because we are afraid to speak. It is safer this way; it is how we survive. When speaking about a relationship between two people, it is not a question of if they said<em> no <\/em>but instead, if they clearly said <em>yes<\/em>. Was the person even in a position to be able to refuse?<\/p>\n<p><em>Consent<\/em> is based on the French author Vanessa Springora\u2019s autobiographic novel describing a 14-year-old girl\u2019s relationship with a male writer 30 years her senior. Even though she believed at the time that it was true love, the kind we experience only once in a lifetime \u2013 what was it in reality? What is consent in an unequal relationship? What marks does it leave? When all the bystanders knew, why did nobody say anything?
